On 27 November 2021 students participating in the Literary Translation Programme, took part in a cultural history tour in Budapest. During the Advent period, the especially topical subject was the history of Hungarian sweets. In their next course, students worked on the vocabulary learned during the tour as well as Dezső Kosztolányi’s short story named “Confectionery”.

The group visited August Patisserie and the former factory of the Stühmer family, moreover, they also tasted cocoa beans and ”dobostorta”  (layered chocolate cake with a hard caramel top).
