Hungarian Language and Cultural Studies students traditionally visit Northern Hungary in the fall for a two-day study trip.

The first program of the trip was a visit to Hollókő, which is the only village in Hungary that is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is therefore known worldwide. The group was welcomed with curd cake and elderberry syrup, and then they participated in a traditional performance. Some students dressed in traditional costumes and saw a colourful and informative performance, learning many interesting things about the village, the Palóc folk traditions, and folk crafts. The braver ones could also try blacksmithing.

In the afternoon, they travelled to Eger, where they took a short sightseeing walk before dinner.

On the second day of the trip, they visited the Eger Castle and then continued the journey to Lillafüred. There, they first took a cable car ride in the beautiful autumn sunshine and then walked in the hanging garden, admiring the colours of Hungarian autumn.

Students, who started their studies a little over a month ago could spend two meaningful days together.
