Firstly, groups of Hungarian Language and Hungarian Studies walked around the castle in Szigliget to see the exhibition and the beautiful panorama. Then they took a bus to Tihany, where lunch was waiting for them in a very cosy place. After lunch, they watched a short film presenting the history of the abbey, and then they got a guided tour of the church and the history of the Benedictine order.
Then they watched the exhibition in smaller groups, where it was preparing for the opening of the exhibition showing the recently found bones of King András I. One of the archaeologists was personally asked about the discovery, their methods, and the significance of the archaeological find.
After visiting the abbey, they discovered the mini-statue of Artúr Gombóc, which most of the students already knew from the fairy tale. Then they walked down to the harbour and sailed over to Balatonfüred. Our students spent a nice and meaningful day together.
