In accordance with tradition, a literary translation competition was announced for students participating in the Balassi Scholarship Programme. All students who feel like translating Hungarian fiction into their native language can apply for this competition.
The students participating in this challenge could choose excerpts from three Hungarian short stories, which were translated into 12 different languages. Competition essays were evaluated by language instructors.
The guest of honour at our award ceremony was Renáta Deák, a translator whose work the competitors got acquainted with, and who gave the students useful advice and a lot of encouragement.
The winners received a book voucher. Congratulations to all competitors 😊
