Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship University Preparatory Programme of MFA FAQ
The lessons start at 8 AM and finish around at 3 PM on weekdays. Students study in groups of 7-12 according to their specializations.
Students learn the Hungarian language in 30 hours a week. In order to be able to speak Hungarian with confidence from the first day, students are exposed to a balanced treatment of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and skills combined with communicative strategies.
There are written and oral examinations in Hungarian language at the end of the semester.
Students learn the Hungarian language in a reduced number of hours (12-14 hours) and 2-3 kinds of vocational subjects according to their specialization in 18-20 hours a week.
The students are required to take oral and written exams both in Hungarian language and in the vocational subjects at the end of the school year.
Consultation opportunities are provided during the school year.
Diaspora Scholarship scholarship holders can submit their applications to two higher educational institutions at the end of the semester. The higher educational institution decides about the admission of the students based on their performance at the preparatory programme and/or at their own entrance exam.
Teachers are enthusiastic and use the most up-to-date methods of guided discovery and self-discovery. Students are exposed to everyday situations in Hungarian in a challenging way. Besides establishing patterns for sentence structure, students will be able to learn pronunciation, intonation and vocabulary by actively participating at the lessons and by listening to the recorded materials, watching DVDs, working with interactive materials on computers. Social skills of students will also be improved through working pair and group work.
Our teachers understand and meet the needs of the students through a wide variety of activities. They create a friendly atmosphere, where students can feel comfortable and motivated.
